A Moment Alone brings Iain Faulkner's signature themes of stillness, solitude and understated luxury into a fresh setting, aboard a classic Riva "Special Ancora" speedboat at rest on glassy water as evening light settles over the horizon. The composition is dominated by the boat itself: polished chrome fittings, cream leather upholstery and deep mahogany decking rendered with an almost photographic precision, each highlight and reflection meticulously observed.

At the helm, a man in a white shirt sits with his back to the viewer, gazing out toward a horizon lit in soft pastel tones of peach, blue and grey. As in much of Faulkner's work, the figure remains anonymous, his identity secondary to the mood he inhabits. There is no urgency here, only the unhurried pleasure of a boat at rest and a moment taken simply to look at the view.

How Is My Artwork Packaged?
