Original Mixed Media Abstract Painting of light and serenity
A serene, panoramic seascape by Sheryl Roberts, where pale gold and ivory light diffuses softly over a muted shoreline. Presented framed in black.
The Softest Light by Sheryl Roberts is a hushed, panoramic abstract built almost entirely from gentle gradations of warm, pale colour. Soft ivory, cream and pale gold fill most of the composition, light seeming to hang in the air rather than break through it, with faint touches of sage and olive drifting in at the edges. It’s an exercise in restraint and atmosphere, true to its title, the palette never raised above a whisper.
Along the lower edge, the horizon bring welcome texture and contrast, dark grey, charcoal and silvery white rendered with far more physical brushwork, catching flashes of warm gold where the soft light skyline meets the horizon. That narrow band of detail anchors the composition and gives the eye somewhere to rest after the expanse of hazy sky.
As an original mixed media piece, signed by the artist, this is a one-of-a-kind work with a wide, horizontal format, calm and understated enough to suit almost any interior, from a bedroom to a hallway to a considered, quiet living space. Framed in black, it’s ready to hang.
