Leanne Gilroy is a portrait painter with a deep love of rugby. That passion shows in every canvas. Whether she is painting a single player or a moment of pitch action, she captures the character, the drama and the energy of the game.

Her style is built up layer by layer, using texture and colour to create portraits of striking exactness. That precision is balanced by a free, abstract, contemporary style, so each piece feels both true to its subject and full of movement.

Leanne is based in Rugby, the birthplace of the sport, which adds a layer of authenticity to her work. She graduated with a first class honours degree in illustration in 2010 and has been producing commissions ever since. Her clients include World Rugby and a number of international and national players, and she has been commissioned by ITV for their Rugby World Cup coverage.
